“Lazy Genius” Your Social Media: Consistency is Key!

Part 3 and the final part of the social media marketing series I am doing. This time, let’s marry the first two parts of the series and create a consistent routine that will help you establish a good social media marketing strategy.

My favorite author and podcaster are Kendra Adachi also known as The Lazy Genius. Her mantra in life is to “Be a genius about what matters and lazy about what doesn’t.” I’m assuming that as a professional or small business owner, online marketing matters to you. At least on some level. The following is my story about how I learned to “Lazy Genius” my social media presence using the 13 principles in her book The Lazy Genius Way.

BUILD THE RIGHT ROUTINES

I know that social media marketing can be exhausting. But don’t worry! You’re not alone-we’ve been there before, and we’ll get through this together with some help from my daily success routine today:

There are two things to remember when you start to build a new routine: choose your content pillars and start small.

Step #1 – Remember Your Battle Cry

What do you want to say to your dream clients? What is your mantra or battle cry? What is your goal? Use the answers as your foundation in creating content so that it will be easier for you to map out ideas.

Step #2 – Create Limits that help you make fewer decisions.

Constraints = creative freedom. Give yourself constraints to help eliminate decision fatigue.

An example of the structure posts I do weekly

  • Monday Musings (Connection) – Into Post
  • Tuesday Tips (Positioning) – Educate Followers with a little nugget
  • Work Wednesday – (Invite) – BTS of my workspace, client experience. etc.
  • Throwback Thursdays (Invite) – highlight a past client experience and talk about their transformation
  • Friday Faves (Connection)
  • Showcase Saturday (Positioning) – Showcase a Product or Service

Step #3 – Create your Social Media Queue

Here lies a home base or list of content that fits your planning parameters. You can use any format you like. I have used Google Sheets and Trello. I recommend incorporating any of the project planning software that you are comfortable using.

Step #4 – Plugin Your Brainless Crowd Pleasers

Mine your past content for posts that did well and had a lot of engagements on IG, FB, etc.

Step # 5 – Fill In the rest of your content

Remember to don’t try to do it all at once! Also when creating content, use one planning period to outline your content. Take time to collect your visual content. Allocate also a time for you to fill in captions. Give energy also to creating reels and stories.

Contact us today, and we can discuss your professional personal branding needs. Have we connected on social media yet?  If not, what are you waiting for? You can find me on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.  I would love to connect with you and know more about you as well!  I hope you will send me a DM so we can continue the conversion offline!
