As a small business owner, it’s more important now than ever to have an online presence in a post-COVID-19 world. When you can’t meet people face to face, the shocking reality is if people don’t know who you are, they can’t give you work and they can’t buy from you. That’s where I come in to help you out. An online presence consists of how you show up on your company websites, social media sites, and in other places such as podcasts, news articles, and local interviews. You want to have a consistent look, feel and tone do your messaging. You want to have a clear message and a clear story to tell. That is how you will begin to build those online relationships and earn the trust of people you interact with online.
You are your brand! A personal brand is simply showing your clients the best version of yourself.
People buy from professionals, freelancers, and small businesses that they know, like, and trust. As another way of looking at it. Imagine meeting clients is like speed dating and your online presence is what they are going to evaluate you on. Are you putting your best foot forward and showing up authentically? Does your online presence build credibility? Would people want to get to know you better and do business with you? After you establish an online presence, it’s important that you stand out from the competition by being uniquely you. You are unique and have things to offer that your competition does not. Those are aspects we want to highlight in your brand.
Start with writing your story!
When working with clients on a branding session, my first goal is to provide them with imagery that is consistent with their branding, their personality and their messaging. The internet is full of stock photos of generic people in generic offices and coffee shops and working on a computer. Anyone can take those photos and anyone can use them for their online presence. However, the bottom line is those images lack soul. Those images will not help people get to know you and know that you are different and why you are different. Your imagery on your website, social media and other publications should be unique to you, your personality and your business. Those are the images that will help build connections and will help people know you and begin to connect with you and eventually trust you as the expert in your industry.
