Today I am sharing hair tips for teen photography sessions and its all about preparation! In addition, I am going to introduce you to the first beautiful model in our High School Bound Sessions, Sarah.

I encourage my tweens to be the best version of their everyday self for these sessions.

This is not the time to go for the high fashion or glamor look.  I do recommend a blow-out if my girls are up for a little extra pampering.  Getting a blow-out will allow the hair to hold it’s style longer and prevent a lot of little flyaway hairs.  My style of photography uses backlighting which can accentuate the little fly away pieces of hair.

I also encourage my girls to wear their hair down and relaxed.

Incorporating motion in the session is always so fun with hair.  Flipping it, tossing it, and just a simple head shake allows the girls to relax, feel confident in front of the camera and most importantly – HAVE FUN!

Now it’s time to meet Sarah!

I liked how she would ask us questions to loosen us up and make us more natural in front of the camera. She played our favorite music. I treasure the friendship and bonds I have with this great group of girls.
