Why You Should Invest in Yearly Classic Portraits Of Your Children

This week I was going through some past sessions to prepare for the spring School Portrait Mini Sessions.  I was struck by how many of these kids have changed in just one session.  These classic school portraits really do capture the big and small changes of every child.

A child can change so much just from one year to the next year.

Look at the difference in these two classic school portraits!  All of these photos were taken only one year apart!  The difference in each child is remarkable and it made me realize (again) how fast they change.  As parents, we see them every day and they grow up and change right before our very eyes.  The changes so subtle that we don’t even notice until we see photos together like this.

A beautiful + classic portrait that captures the essence of who they are.

I love that so many of my families also understand the importance of photographing their kids every year.  A beautiful + classic portrait that captures the essence of who they are.  We see glimpses of the young child they once were and the young adult they are becoming WAY TOO FAST.  I can literally feel the time slipping through my fingers and I want so badly to hold tight.  Unfortunately, we cannot stop that time or even slow it, but we can embrace the change and capture the beauty of each year as it passes us by.

Finally, here are a few testimonials from the mom’s!

“Seeing my boys’ school pictures completely made my day!  I’m getting so many compliments on them.  There were so cute!  I can honestly say it’s the best money I’ve spent in a while.” ~ Katie S. (school parent)

”I absolutely love how these school portraits truly capture the individuality and personalities of my children. Shelly takes the time to connect with each child to obtain a genuine smile – not the wide-eyed, fake smile I used to get with typical school pictures. “ ~ Shannon D. (school parent)

“I walk past my little’s pictures every day and smile. I smile because Shelly honestly caught my daughter’s personality in one click – I can feel everything that makes her who she is just by looking at one picture. I plan to have them all lined up down a hall from Pre-K through Senior Year when all is said and done.” ~ Jenn B. (school parent)

“Shelly is so easy to work with!  My daughter can be a little shy, but Shelly is so kind and friendly and immediately makes our girl at ease.   I love how in just a few clicks Shelly is able to capture what I love most about my daughter – her sweet smile and laughter (and those freckles).  Her use of natural light is also amazing.  I highly recommend Shelly and can’t wait for our next session!” ~Kaete D. I love how you show the huge difference a year can make with these kids! Wonderful job, and I agree, yearly portraits are so important!

Such great examples of why everyone with kids should do this. Love your school portraits so much better than lifetouch.
