November is Adoption Awareness Month! I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than to profile some of my 2018 Red Thread Sessions. One of my favorite things I do is offer Dallas Adoption Family Photography Sessions through the Red Thread Session Organization. Red Thread Sessions is an organization of volunteer photographers who provide discounted photography sessions for families who have completed the adoption process. Families that have added to their family through adoption within the last 3 months qualify for a Red Thread Session! I personally set aside one session per month as a Red Thread or Gold Hope Session to give back to a family.
These adoption sessions are one of the biggest reasons that I am a family photographer. Capturing all of the love, joy, and connection within these first few months of bonding as a new family is so important. My job as the family’s memory keeper is to tell their story. A story that often involves some bumpy roads and heartache along the way. But I also believe this is a story of redemption because God had a beautiful plan in mind for each of these families and these children. Having a front row seat to see the finish line for so many of these families is the greatest honor I have in my work. I am so honored that they trust me to capture these images and give these children a gift that will last for generations to come.

Finally, meet the Philip family! They have recently added to their family by adopting FIVE children who were all siblings. The Lord put this calling on their heart and they stepped out if obedience. What a lovely testimony to God’s beautiful plan. They wanted this session to “commemorate the expansion of our family and to help the kids realize we are all one family now”. Believe me. They are one big beautiful family and the amount of love and joy in this session was off the carts. Scroll down through the photos to check it out.
