Seattle Child Lifestyle Session {Children’s Photographer}

Our family was blessed to spend a few weeks up in the Pacific NW this summer with family friends.  The small, remote island on the Puget Sound was a haven for little boys.  Our days were spent collecting crabs on the beach, skipping rocks, fishing, boating and whatever else they set their minds to.  I love that my boys could experience an entire technology free, outdoor world away from the constant parental supervision that is required in city life.

We did get a bath one night so that I could take a few photos in the beautiful setting.  As a lifestyle photographer and boy mom I don’t dress my kids in fancy new outfits for vacation photos.  Each boy is allowed to choose one outfit to go in the suitcase for family pictures.  I want them to be relaxed and happy so I allow them to pick an outfit that goes with their personality.  My only rule is no athletic attire.  The funny coincidence with this shoot is that both boys choose plaid shirts and khaki’s.  Allowing kids choose their attire is one of many strategies I use to get fun photos with natural connections and smiles.

The entire island was once covered with grapevines and several vineyards still remain.   We found an old truck parked in a neighbors yard.  Seriously!  Perfect for this rural setting. The beautiful barn like building once served as the bottling plant for all of the grape juice made on the island.  I am constantly amazed at the natural and rustic beauty of the remote island.

The boys and their friend Peyton.  This image is the first portrait style photo of all three boys that we have taken in three years.  A small miracle to get them all in the same shot.  All the boy moms out there should be able to relate with me on that one.  Great memories with great friends!
