There is something special about photographing school age siblings. The joyful + candid images from these kids never disappoints. As a child photographer I always come with a list of fun games and prompts to ensure that we get truly candid images that reflect the personalities of each child + portray the family dynamics. Just like all sessions these three started out a little tense with the kids smiling at the camera. However, within minutes we were playing games + laughing and it seemed more like a playdate than a photo session. Those special moments provide for some sweet, genuine and candid images. My biggest compliment is when the kids walk away asking their parents “When can we do photos again?”.
I love lifestyle photography because it not only captures what an individual looks like but the true essence of who they are. This is so important with children because they grow so fast. Sometimes we never know when will be the last time that they willingly hold brother’s hand, sit on mom’s lap or be little enough for parent’s to hold them in their arms. I’m so grateful for all of my families and that they trust me to capture these beautiful stages of their children’s growth.
